OUR STORY

Grand Slam USA was founded in 1989 by Lucille Butler. It was originally a franchise of the former corporation GRAND SLAM U.S.A. - a baseball and basketball training facility. The business had 4 batting cages, an indoor basketball court, an arcade, party room, pool tables, sport cards and a snack bar which was all managed by her son, Chris.

As the years passed and the business faced troubling times, Lucille fought to keep the doors open by any means necessary. In 2005, she decided to make an investment in fitness equipment and utilize the basketball court space for a gym. - This was the start of Grand Slam USA as we know it today.

Had it not been for the many years of determination to remain in business and the decision to transform the business into a gym, the business may not have been here today.

Lucille lived to see the gym until she passed away in 2010.

In 2013, the business started to take off.

The last decade has been a formative and crucial era of the business.

Lucille’s granddaughter, Isis, changed the trajectory and overall brand of the business.

Isis never had the intention of devoting her life to the business, but after Lucille’s passing and graduating college - and upon finding out more details of the struggles Lucille faced, she took it upon herself with a fierce desire to repair and build the business.

She wanted to do it in her own way while still honoring the roots.

After all, the roots of GRAND SLAM USA were near and dear to Isis as well.

Sports were an integral part of the family.

Lucille was a talented and fierce tennis player. Chris was an elite level baseball player and loved sports his entire life.

Isis, too, grew up with her grandmother as a year round athlete playing baseball and basketball.

It was crucial to Isis to keep the name Grand Slam USA, even though it was originally a completely different franchise business with different amenities. The name represented her grandmother. Legacy. The name was a reminder to stay true to yourself - And to continue to rebuild and grow what was started. In a new way, but maybe even in same way again.

Isis has done just that - Created a brand that is true to her. As a woman, artist, musician, athlete and rebel - she has rebranded GRAND SLAM USA as a hardcore athletic club with a visible and embodied passion for excellence, strength, sports, and music. True to passion and true to the roots.

There is so much in store for the future of GRAND SLAM USA.

If you’ve made it this far, thank you for taking your time and reading.

In 2024, Grand Slam USA is stronger than ever.
